Mike Friesen BHK, BCAK, FCE Registered Kinesiologist/ Owner
Email: mike@mcrehabandwellness.com
The owner and founder of MC Rehabilitation and Wellness, Mike Friesen completed his BHK (Bachelors of Human Kinetics) in Kinesiology from Trinity Western University, Langley, BC and is member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiology. Specializing in athletic performance improvement through the use of strength and conditioning and movement training, he also has a great passion for furthering his knowledge in every aspect of his profession.
After completing a year in the lower mainland of BC at a physiotherapy clinic, Mike gained extensive knowledge and practical experience in the area of physical and active rehabilitation. He feels that injury prevention is the key to a longer healthier life. Less injuries can provide you with more opportunities to do the things you want to. Post-rehabilitation is what is necessary after rehabilitation (physiotherapist or chiropractor) to strengthen the injured area and preventing the injury from re-occurring.
During the years of his undergraduate degree at TWU, Mike had the privilege
to work with the head strength and conditioning coach, Andrew Heming. As
an associate strength coach, he worked with elite level mens and womens
volleyball, basketball, and soccer athletes at the university. Mike
understands what needs to be done in the weight room to achieve success on the
court or field! Athletes must continue to get stronger and faster to continually
improve their performance and be at the top. Also during those years, the
mens volleyball won the CIS National Championship and the womens soccer team
won the CIS National Championship twice! During the year after graduation, he
worked at Columbia Bible College as the head strength coach and was able to
pilot their first ever year of an athletic strength and conditioning
program.

"My approach to patient care can be summed up quite simply - eliminate your pain; conquer the underlying dysfunction; and help you take control of your injury. Most people believe that the coast is clear once their pain has subsided. Yet their inability to perform simple movements like touch their toes, twist, and stand on one leg often tells a different story. Eliminating pain is a necessary first step, but getting you functional again is the real goal"
